Vocoder (Connor Berghoffer) is an up-and-coming electronic music producer from New Zealand. We The People is his new track, out in early 2026, and it’s made for big festival stages—kind of like his set at RnV New Zealand New Year’s recently.
Connor got his start making music back in 2018, messing around with FL Studio after high school. Now, he makes roomy, melodic progressive house tracks with vocals that try to get the crowd going and spread good vibes.
This song is all about coming together. The lyrics are like a call to action for everyone to make a change, with big, happy builds, synths that soar, and drops ready for a festival sing-along. The song’s mix really lets everything breathe. You’ve got sharp drums, layers of sound, and vocals that create these waves of emotion, making it feel huge but personal at the same time. It shows he’s really getting serious about making music in 2026.
Connor Berghoffer, you might know him as DJ Vocoder, is a familiar face in the New Zealand club scene.
He’s played at places like Bar101, Mothership, and AV Club, and he’s also been at Rhythm & Vines, which is one of the biggest music festivals here. He’s got years behind him, and he’s known for sets that mix all sorts of music, from house to dubstep to drum & bass, so there’s something for everyone.
Besides DJing, Vocoder produces his own music, making original tracks that try new things in house and drum & bass. He also runs Dataset, a festival broadcast company that puts on pop-up shows in cool spots around New Zealand.
On top of all that, he also runs Propel, a media and news company that keeps people up to date on what’s happening in the NZ music scene.
