Seattle-based project arms around the world, fronted by multi-instrumentalist Jon Rimmerman, has released “right now,” the electrifying lead single from the forthcoming sophomore album connection. Fueled by an early 70s Les Paul ‘gold top’ and inspired by Berlin-era Bowie, the track is a fusion of abrasive guitar forward-push and dreamlike vocal harmonies courtesy of Hazel Stanfield. “Right now” finds the subject of relentless modern hunger, providing a hypnotic, relentless momentum that sets the stage for the project’s new sonic chapter, due out via Shy Sounds in January 2027.

From Wine World Disruptor to Charting Alt-Rock Visionary
Widely credited as the founder of Garagiste—the world’s largest email-based wine business—Rimmerman has spent decades unearthing hidden culture and connection. After Arms Around the World’s self-titled 2026 debut, which charted on the NACC Sub-Modern list, Connection turns to a looser, live-recorded aesthetic captured between Seattle and Paris. The new album substitutes over-tracked perfection for spontaneous energy, gritty interaction, and sprawling dynamic depth, with high-caliber collaborators including Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie’s Blackstar), Geoff Stanfield, Jeff Taylor, and Sheridan Riley.
