The track opens with a nostalgic piano motif, acoustic guitar, and a playful sped-up vocal sample before opening into a sugar-sweet indie-pop ballad. The track features a relaxed groove and a quintessentially British charm, led by the distinctive vocals of singer-songwriter Natalie Holmes. The song is heavily influenced by the cafés, parks, and meandering streets of Stroud, the Cotswold town where the album was made, quietly celebrating the beauty found in the ordinary, everyday rituals.

Following a previous line-up change, the band had spent years working with guest vocalists remotely, but founder and producer Christian Pinchbeck asked Natalie Holmes to collaborate after seeing her live set supporting Jesca Hoop. A natural creative partnership that started soon cemented Girlhood back into a real, in-the-room unit.
