Born Harold Joe Jr. in Dunedin, Florida, CBF Hollywood is a multifaceted artist whose work reflects his experiences from both the past and the present. From his grandfather’s organ playing during Sunday services to the variety of music his family enjoyed, Hollywood was surrounded by music while growing up in Tarpon Springs. He became the artist he is today because of these early influences.
With more than 20 years of experience in beatmaking and music, CBF Hollywood joined the industry ten years ago and has since collaborated with major and independent artists all over the world. He contributes a distinct Floridian energy that is uncommon in hip-hop, drawing inspiration from icons such as Master P, Bone Thugs, 2Pac, Juvenile, and Trick Daddy. He established himself on the scene with his collaboration with Slim 400 on “Cruising LA,” which became one of his most streamed singles.
That same genuineness can be heard in his most recent song, “Money 2 Get.” The song, which was inspired by hanging out with Rod Wave in Tampa, combines a dope production style, a vocal sample layered with smooth reverb, and hard-hitting drums. His flow conveys the story with conviction, the vibe is poignant yet catchy, and the energy is unadulterated.
