NYC-based folk-pop artist, producer, and activist Rachael Sage and her longtime band The Sequins have announced the upcoming release of Under My Canopy, out October 9th via MPress/Virgin/Universal. The new project showcases a warm, intimate acoustic reimagining of the songs from her critically acclaimed 2025 studio album Canopy, transforming the original material into a soulful musical refuge. The record delves into themes of resilience, queerness, anti-violence, and environmental consciousness and features an impressive roster of guest collaborators in the realms of Americana, pop, and neo-folk, including cellist Dave Eggar, guitarist Christie Lenée, and harmonica player Trina Hamlin.

Standout Tracks and UK Tour Announcement
The album is being introduced with several key singles, including a new cover of Buddy Holly’s “Everyday” (with proceeds benefiting the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation), the pacifist title track “Canopy (Acoustic)” and “Underneath (Acoustic),” a moving response to school shootings, coupled with Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America.” The collection also features “Colorized World (Acoustic)”, a coming-of-age coming-out track for someone in their mid-twenties, and “Nexus (Acoustic)”, dedicated to nonbinary student Nex Benedict. Following the release, Rachael Sage & The Sequins will be heading out on the road across the UK throughout October supporting Emma Stevens and bringing her signature emotionally rich live performance to stages across London, Bath, Edinburgh and beyond.
