After the huge success of her critically acclaimed album ‘Emotional Rodeo’, which topped the iTunes Country Chart and was praised by the likes of Russell Crowe, Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin returns with a raucous, tongue-in-cheek country-rock masterpiece. Her brand new single “Diane” drops June 30, 2026 and it’s a departure from her classic ballads to a rip-roaring high octane story of small-town gossip, village scandal and the terrifying speed of local rumor.
“Diane” is a brilliant, fast-paced country-rock anthem that originated from a hilarious, throwaway studio punchline with long-time collaborator Ian Barter (“her real name’s Anne, but I say go die Anne”). The track is co-produced by legends Jürgen Korduletsch and Rick Chambers and mastered by Christian Wright at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. Devlin leans heavily into a much grittier, raucous side of her signature Americana blueprint.

The production opens with a brooding, heavy electric guitar riff and crashing, thunderous drums that instantly send the track into overdrive. Janet’s crystalline, twang-inflected vocal performance brings the story to life, opening the track with a hilarious and relatable “I swear I’m not a bad person” introduction (“God forgive me but…”). It combines fast, sharp wit with high quality storytelling, and maintains a relentless pace that never looks back.
Having established her reputation as one of the most distinctive independent voices in the UK & Irish country scene with “Diane”, Janet Devlin is taking this unstoppable momentum straight out on the road. Supported by high-profile summer appearances on Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock Show, an acoustic set at Dublin’s legendary Ruby Sessions and a busy festival schedule alongside heavyweights like Mika, Devlin shows that she is a true master of transforming real-life human curiosity into a country-rock spectacle.
